Comprehensive Plan Mapping Moving Along

As of June 6th, the first two land use mapping meetings for the update of the Indianapolis-Marion County Comprehensive Plan have been held.  Both meetings focused on Pike Township.  In these two meetings, citzens and city staff have discussed land use in the extablished parts of the township, looked at environmentally sensitive areas, started discussion on parks and have had detailed discussion on nine smaller areas in transition.

The Division of Planning sent out over 1500 notices for the meetings. In addition, we were very fortunate to have additional publicity generated through MCANA Common Ground, the Indianapolis Star and the Pike Township Residents Association.

Upcoming meetings will be held at the following times and locations:

June 24 - 7:00 p.m.
     Pike Township Planning Area
      Intech 1 Conference Center
        6325 Digital Way

July 8 - 7:00 p.m.
     Wayne Township Planning Area 
                   (includes portions of western Center Township)
        Northwest High School media center
        5525 W. 34th Street

July 15 - 7:00 p.m.
       Pike Township Planning Area
      Pike Township Government Center
        5665 Lafayette Road.

All persons who live, work, play, or own property in Marion County are welcome and encouraged to attend these meetings.
