Peoni Named to Lead Division of Planning Mike Peoni has been appointed the Administrator of the Division of Planning, Department of Metropolitan Development; filling the position left vacant upon Maury Plambeck’s promotion to Director of DMD. Peoni will oversee all planning and zoning for the City of Indianapolis including comprehensive, sub-area, and neighborhood planning, as well as the Regional Center Plan and Indianapolis Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO). Peoni has nearly 30 years of planning experience, serving most recently as the manager/master planner for the MPO. In that position, he served as the primary transportation planner for the Indianapolis region and was responsible for such projects as the ConNECTions Study of Transportation in the Northeast Corridor and the MPO’s Community Involvement Program. “We are very fortunate to have Mike as a part of our team. His strong commitment to community involvement and decades of planning experience is a great asset to the department as well as Indianapolis residents,” said Maury Plambeck. Peoni is a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners, the American Planning Association and the Indiana Planning Association. In addition, he serves on the board of directors for the Indianapolis Senior Citizens’ Center. Peoni received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Indiana University. He is a long time resident of the Meridian Kessler neighborhood. |
