Election Day 2002 is now passed. At the County level, only Frank Anderson’s win to become Marion County Sheriff will bring a non-incumbent to our government. ****** Outside the Election arena, we are losing a familiar face with Dr. Beurt SerVaas’ retirement from the Council. He has been a fixture who’s hand has helped guide Indianapolis from the inception of Uni-Gov. ****** For all of the election results, including your Township offices, log on to the Marion County Clerk’s website at: www.indygov.org/clerk/results.htm ****** The next election will soon enough be upon us, with the Mayor and the entire City-County Council up for review. During the intervening months, they will grapple with the public safety issues that were highlighted during the election, and how to fund them. ****** As regular readers of Common Ground know, we often refer you to the www.indygov.org web site. Well, they have won another well-deserved award. They have come in 3rd place in the Best of the Web awards given by the Center for Digital Government, in the Local Government category and www.in.gov got 4th place in the State Government category.
