Message from Meg Maguire to McANA
by Norm Pace
[Warren Township Director for McANA and Chairman of McANA's Land Use Committee]

I received a hand written letter from Ms. Meg Maguire, President, Scenic America to McANA.  She states: “Please give my regards & thanks to McANA for the beautiful plague & book.  I will treasure them & always remember your organization for your love of Indianapolis & the future of its neighborhoods.  Fondly, Meg”.

During Meg Maguire & Bill Brinton, Scenic Florida, visit, Merri Anderson gave them a two hour professional tour of downtown Indianapolis, pointing out historical and cultural features of Indianapolis.  Nancy Meade and myself accompanied Meg Maguire & Bill Brinton to a pre-arranged meeting with Deputy Mayor Carolyn Coleman to discuss the billboard issues in Indianapolis and the importance to support a city ordinance to “Stop new construction of billboards.”  That afternoon we met with Councilors Phil Borst, President of the City-County Council, and Rozelle Boyd, Minority Leader of the City-County Council.  A small reception occurred that evening to welcome our guests and to introduce them to the leadership of McANA. On Saturday morning Meg Maguire & Bill Brinton made an excellent presentation at McANA’s Membership Meeting.  Their presentation gave us an insight as to what is happening in the country in other cities on the billboard issue as well as to the strategies used by the billboard industries.

Our guests were most pleased with our Hoosier Hospitality and ask me to convey their “Thank You” to each and everyone of you.  I would also like to extend my “Thank You” to each and everyone of you for your support.
