the Desk of Tammara Tracy Greetings Neighbors! The Urban Committee of the Hoosier Heartland Resource Conservation and Development Council (HHRC&D) has announced their re/detention pond workshop series, called "Pond Pro Program". The Pond Pro Program occurs over 4 week nights, 6:30-8:30pm, starting April 23, April 30, May 7, and May 14. The Pond Pro Program will help any homeowner's organization or individuals who have re/detention ponds to manage. The workshops will cover water quality, wildlife, watershed, legal, safety and maintenance issues over a series of four classroom sessions. The classes will help non-professionals to understand and implement sound management and maintenance practices. Classes will be held in Cool Creek Park near Westfield on April 23, April 30, May 7 and May 14. An optional hands-on session on Saturday, May 17th, will be held at an existing detention pond in the area. The cost of the workshop is $30.
