Ms. Meg Maguire, President, Scenic America, located in Washington, DC has accepted an Invitation from McANA to be our Guest Speaker at McANA’s Membership meeting scheduled for Saturday, September 20th to be held at 9:00 am in the North United Methodist Church located at 38th Street & North Meridian Street. She will be speaking on the issues of “Billboards and Sign Control”.

Ms. Meg Maguire will be arriving on Thursday, September 18th. Plans are being made for Ms. Maguire to meet with Mayor Bart Peterson, Dr. Phil Borst (President of City-County Council), Mr. Rozelle Boyd (Minority Leader of the City-County Council), Ms. Judy O’Bannon (Indiana First Lady) on Friday, September 19th. Plans include Councilors Karen Horseman and Lance Langsford to also meet with Ms. Maguire.

Councilors Horseman and Langsford were the key sponsors for the Billboard Moratorium which passed the City-County Council last May of this year in order that we can work on revision of the Sign Ordinance without fighting the billboard industry at Hearings during the process. Also, we will be contacting the various news media to provide opportunities for them to interview Ms. Maguire.

A reception dinner is being planned for Friday, September 19th at Five Seasons Country Club. We encourage everyone to attend the McANA’s Membership Meeting on Saturday, September 20th at 9:00 am. to hear and meet with Ms. Meg Maguire. We need to give her a “Hoosier” Welcome and extend to her some “Hoosier Hospitality”. Please plan to attend.
