Public Input Needed
for Two Important Plans Besides the Comprehensive Land Use Plan that has been under way for the last few years, two other significant Plans are being formulated and need public input. These are the update of the Parks Comprehensive Plan and the all new Regional Transportation Plan. The Parks Plan has already had its first round of public meetings to gather information about what the residents of Indianapolis want in and from their Park System. The next round of meetings will be to get the Public’s reaction to plans and proposals crafted with the citizen’s ideas in mind. For more information, contact Tim Shaw, Indy Parks Planner, at 327-5718 or tashaw@indygov.org The Regional Transportation Plan is now in Phase II, gathering public input regarding potential routes. Once this feedback is incorporated and the Policy Committee of the Metropolitan Planning Organization gives the go-ahead, the Plan will move into Phase III—figuring out from where $2.5 billion will come to fund the Plan. For more information you can log onto www.indygov.org/indympo, click on ‘Current Studies’ and then select ‘DiRecTionS: Regional Rapid Transit Study’.
