McANA Deliberates --Zoning Cases At Issue MCANA is often requested to participate in zoning and land use issues, that may or may not have County wide implications but that could have direct and serious impacts on a specific neighborhood. This often is a difficult situation to tackle because of McANA's desire to take a broader, county wide view of neighborhood viability while also seeking to help empower neighborhoods on an individual level. The dilemma is further intensified when affected neighborhood organizations do not agree with each other on land use matters. The MCANA Board of Directors is currently considering establishing a procedure that will give us consistent guidance to how to handle these requests. We would like to have the membership's perspectives on the circumstances under which MCANA should become involved in a neighborhood zoning case. If your neighborhood organization has some thoughts on this matter, we invite you to share those thoughts with us in the next month so that we can develop a fair and effective approach. The McANA Land Use Committee will listen to your opinions at its next meeting; 8 am, Saturday, March 20, North United Methodist Church. Or, you call your Director or any Officer to give us any suggestions. You can also jot them down and send them via email to: pace@mcanaindy.org. send comments
