A Special Resolution opposing I-69 route 3c, currently configured to roughly follow the SR 37 corridor through Perry Township, has been introduced into the City-County Council and will be heard by the Rules & Public Policy Committee this Tuesday, November 16. The meeting will begin at 5:00 pm and be held in room 260 of the City-County Building.

The four sponsors of Prop 647 are all Councilors with a piece of Perry Township in their District; Borst, Cockrum, Speedy and Day.

McANA has joined forces with the Hoosier Environmental Council and the Southwest Perry Civic Association to compile “The Case For Proposal 647, 2004”, a 38 page booklet outlining the reasons why I-69 is a bad deal for Perry Township, Indianapolis, and Indiana. This booklet has been provided to the Rules Committee members and will also be provided to the full Council. The next Council meeting is scheduled for December 13 and that is the earliest time at which the full Council would debate and vote on Prop 647.
